Before I start out on my trek.....

A series of events over the past few years has led me to realize a few important things:

1) Life is short.
2) You determine your own happiness.
3) You have to ask for help when you need it.

I'm about to travel to the other side of the world. Backpack on my back, map in hand.  Though this is a personal quest, both externally and internally, I've realized that I'm going to need your help to not feel alone while I explore life in the Southern Hemisphere.

Here's the deal:  I post pictures and updates along the way sharing with you my explorations; you intermittently remind me that you're there, on the other side of the world, cheering me on.  : )

Thank you for your friendship, your support, and your love.  I'm going to need it!

  3. Ade, I'm following your trek on google maps - it feels like I am there with you! Remember when we drove through Germany and saw Goethe's house? Was someone in the backseat or was it just us? Very exciting to hear about your adventure. Sounds like NZ is very beautiful!! Can't wait to see more pics. BTW if you are jonesing for a good book, download The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach - one of the best I've ever read. Love you.
