After a few days in Auckland, I decided I wanted to visit the Coromandel Peninsula, a few hours outside of Auckland. I drove the perimeter of this peninsula, and found that the west coast of the peninsula was not all the spectacular, but the east coast was lush and very sub-tropical with beautiful views.
I had heard that the town of Hahei was quite nice and so when I drove into town and saw this beautiful beach, I knew that's where I would be spending the night. After finding a nice place to stay, I grabbed dinner and then walked the beach and had a peaceful evening.
The next morning I visited Cathedral Cove, the walk being 40 minutes from Hahei. This was a fantastic find as it was sparsely populated and afforded these beautiful views.....
And so it was the perfect end to my trip.... I decided a few days prior that it was time to head home and rest in Vermont, and so after my morning at Cathedral Cove, I drove to Auckland Airport, made the long trek across the world, and have arrived home, looking forward to a few weeks more of vacation at home!
Welcome Home!
