Dunedin, New Zealand

Dunedin is a city with a college town feel.  It is located along the east coast of NZ at the base of the Otago Peninsula.  I walked the city today and got a sense of the amazing architecture here.  City center is the Octagon, an octagonally shaped downtown area filled with restaurants and cafes.  Its a fun place to be!

The Octagon

I think I saw most everything in Dunedin today via foot!  I left my B&B (which has a great view of the harbor) and walked down the steep street and headed to the Octagon.  I stopped into the i Site center (these amazing information centers located EVERYWHERE in NZ that tell you what is good to do and where it is good to eat in the town that you are in) and proceeded to hit all the highlights: University of Otago, Otago Museum, Dunedin Botanical Gardens, and the Public Art Museum.  In my travels, I passed by Dunedin Hospital (where Jenny worked) and the Medical School as well.  And yes, Liam, I ate wedges at Nova Cafe!!  :  )

Tomorrow I head out to the Otago Peninsula where coastal wildlife is the main attraction......
